Offering a role for fractional quality management

Posted .

Hi everyone,

I’m Vicki Delaney, though some people know me as Victoria. I’ve been in the ISO quality management world since 1994 and have either assisted or audited over 300 companies during that time. Before that, I spent 13 years as a manufacturing engineer, which made the move into ISO auditing a natural fit—it combined my technical background with my passion for helping businesses run more efficiently.

Over the years, I’ve noticed a pattern with small manufacturing companies. Maintaining their Quality Management System was often a side job for the quality manager. Most of their time went into solving day-to-day quality control problems, while the ISO work got pushed aside until right before an audit. Then came the last-minute scramble—digging for documents, preparing reports, and hoping everything was in order before the auditors showed up. Operations were disrupted for days, and the audits rarely uncovered anything that actually improved the business.

To me, all that chaos added no real value—just stress. So, I decided to find a better way. I partnered with a certification body that conducts remote assessments and began offering fractional QMS management services. This setup takes the pressure off quality managers by providing monthly reviews that focus on ISO compliance, how the processes affect cash flow, and what can be done to strengthen the bottom line.

No on-site auditors. No panic before audits. Just a steady, proactive system that keeps your certification current and your business running smoothly.

The cost? $300 an hour, just 12 hours a year—that’s $3,600 annually to maintain certification without the headaches.
