After being laid off from Humana last month, I sold everything I own, packed a small suitcase and bought a 1-way ticket to Vietnam.
For the past month I've been traveling around Vietnam, staying in $8 per night hotel rooms and eating food on the street for less than a dollar. I'm even learning how to drive on a motorcycle where no stop signs exist...just honk and hope someone sees you coming.
I've fallen in love with Vietnam and the person it has allowed me to become by facing new challenges. I want to remain here as long as I can. The local economy doesn't really support my background and skillset, so I decided to create my own job.
I am attempting to break into Fractional Consulting. This is where I am a part-time resource to potentially several companies at once, working on individual projects or as a month-to-month contractor, without the high overhead of a full time employee.
The goal is to be able to remain as a global citizen and not be physically tied to the United States, while still offering the same level of quality and expertise that I've learned from working within the Marketing Operations department of one of the top Healthcare companies in the world, but on my own terms.
I am looking for advice on how to get my first client beyond leveraging my current network.
Is anyone able to help me identify a company that is running into difficulties with inefficient marketing processes or struggling to launch marketing campaigns on time and could utilize an Agile Scrum Master that has multichannel fortune 50 experience.
Any direction would be appreciated.
Thank you!
